I have yet to get the trace install to work.
Have tried on several program.
Typically an error 193 means not a win 32 application.
This issue needs to be addressed please.

You cannot install x64 application on a 32-bit Windows

It's a 64 bit Vista! 4 core Phenom 9550
see the speccy.
I have tried several installs some X86 and some X64.
Not ignorant to such matters.
I test and review about 40 -50 programs a week.
I'm having no problems installing or uninstalling. The uninstall tool is wonderful, misses a few things now and then, yet still very good.
The issues is only with "trace and install". . . has not worked once on over 30 attempt. Always the same error as shown.

I apologize for being not attentive.
Please answer the following questions to help us get more info on the issue:
1. What is Uninstall Tool version?
2. Are you running 'MultiCommander_x64...exe' from Uninstall Tool window OR using a context menu ('Install and Trace') on the .exe file?
3. What if you put the 'MultiCommander_x64...exe' to a root drive ('C:\MultiCommander_x64...exe') and start Install Tracker from there?
Thank you.
PS. I must admit it's all very weird and it's the first report of such matter, Windows reports error 193 when the .exe format is not valid.

Actually one other has.
http://www.crystalidea.com/forum/viewto ... t=193#p759
Ok Version: 3.11
I have tried on several using both methods. (context menu and through the program)
Always same error and always the error come up instantly.
Usually very good on trouble shooting, yet I seem to be overlooking the obvious somehow.
All programs can be installed in the normal manner.

Ok Version: 3.11
So there's no 193 error in 3.1.1 ? (which is the latest)?

~smiles~ No as ok the version I'm using is 3.11.
Yet I do see why you to it as such.
Just for the record again, even without the install and trace it's a great program.
I'll keep looking on this end, yet if you come up with a brainstorm let me know.
Handle other issues first if you need more time.

Fixed in 3.3.3 Build 5321. It took ages to reproduce the problem, we're really sorry

I don't think it's a problem of 3.4.1
- What was the full path to "fragment-1-4-1-beta2.exe"?
- Can you please share this file "fragment-1-4-1-beta2.exe" ?
- Does it matter if you start the install from context menu OR from the app?
- Does it work with .msi setup?

Both of these don't work from EITHER the context menu or from within the tool :
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\mp3tagv266setup.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\fragment-1-4-1-beta2.exe
Also, you can get either of these exe's online. Here is a link to mp3tag:

Does it work with .msi setup?
Previous version of UT (3.4):

Update: just checked on clean XP SP3 x86, Uninstall Tool 3.4.1, mp3tagv266setup.exe, everything works

OK it has something to do with the path! When i moved the executables it worked! Several did actually but NONE work when located in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop
Ideas?

This is a miracle
though not a pleasant one
What path do they work from? Can you experiment some more?
I'm not able to reproduce the situation (for years).

here are 2 paths that work fine no problem:
C:\files.exe
N:\Main Backup\Best Freeware\files.exe
Did you try the EXACT path name? Even using the name "Administrator" ?
Also *.msi files seem to work ... this path only affects exe's!
